Affiliate Disclosure
How PayoutMath uses affiliate links — and why it doesn't affect what our calculators tell you.
What we link to
On a number of calculator pages — those covering UK eCommerce sellers, content creators, self-publishers, and self-employed taxpayers filing through HMRC — we include a panel labelled "Helpful gear" or "Helpful resources" that links to a few products on Amazon.
These are products that the audience for that calculator might genuinely need: postage scales for sellers, a USB microphone for streamers, an HMRC self-assessment guidebook for the self-employed, and so on. We don't link to anything we wouldn't recommend regardless of the affiliate relationship.
How the links work
The links use Amazon's search format with our Amazon Associates tag attached. When you click through and buy something on Amazon within a 24-hour window, Amazon credits a small commission to us at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is identical whether you arrive via our link or directly through Amazon.
We participate in the Amazon Associates programmes for the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, and Canada. Our Amazon links use Amazon OneLink, which automatically routes you to the Amazon storefront for your country so you can shop in your home currency and benefit from local shipping.
The Amazon Associates disclosure
As an Amazon Associate, PayoutMath earns from qualifying purchases.
This phrasing is required by the Amazon Associates Programme Operating Agreement, which all participants must follow.
Why this doesn't bias the calculators
Our calculator math is driven by official fee schedules from each platform (Etsy, eBay, Vinted, PayPal, Stripe, Spotify, Amazon KDP, HMRC, and so on). Affiliate links sit in a separate panel after the calculator's results — they don't influence which fees we model, what rates we use, or what the take-home number is.
If a platform changes its fee structure — or if HMRC updates the trading allowance, NIC thresholds, or VAT rates — we update our schedule data and rebuild. Affiliate revenue has zero input into that process.
Other affiliate relationships
At present, Amazon Associates is our only affiliate programme. If we add others in future — for example, accounting software, payment processors, or platform-specific tools — we'll list them on this page and label the links as sponsored where they appear.
